On Niquole Caringi’s first day as a law school intern at the Cooley
Innocence Project, the school hosted a panel of exonerees who talked
about their experiences for Wrongful Conviction Day. Interns then had
lunch with the panel members of some of the families.

May 10, 2024In honor of National Library Week and Right to Read Day, the ACLU of Michigan recently launched an innovative map that tracks book bans and other forms of government censorship throughout the state.
“Hostile Territory: Mapping Michigan’s Anti-LGBTQ+ Movement & other Government Acts of Censorship” is a response to the proliferation of book bans – the vast majority targeting LGBTQ+ characters and themes – from public libraries and schools across the state.

AI response team releases interim guidance and resources for state courts
May 10, 2024Courts looking for guidance on artificial intelligence (AI) have new resources at their fingertips thanks to the National Center for State Courts’ (NCSC) AI Rapid Response Team (RRT).
Working with NCSC, the AI RRT has developed the first in a series of interim guidance and compiled resources to help state courts understand artificial intelligence and generative AI.
