    Wanting to work in a profession centered around helping others, Logan Byrne earned his undergrad degree in criminology from Eastern Michigan University, made the Dean's List every year, and graduated magna cum laude, honored with the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in Criminology in both his junior and senior years. He worked his way through college as manager of a convenience store on campus for a couple of years; then as a student assistant at the local Secretary of State Office; and in his senior year, took a second job at a local arcade.

  • Proposed PPO law addresses service issues

    When a personal protection order (PPO) is granted in Michigan, it is supposed to give the petitioner assurance that the perpetrator will abide by the court order restricting contact with the petitioner. Once the PPO is granted, it must be served upon the respondent so he or she knows that the PPO exists and what the restrictions entail.

    The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is awarding a Technology Initiative Grant (TIG) in the amount of $298,300 to Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP). This grant will enable MAP to enhance online self-help legal resources for all Michiganders.
