Nominations open for 2025 IBA Outstanding Woman Lawyer Award

The International Bar Association (IBA) Women Lawyers’ Committee is receiving nominations for the 2025 IBA Outstanding International Woman Lawyer Award. Supported by LexisNexis, the Award recognizes women who have shown excellence in their field, inspired others to pursue legal careers, championed women’s rights in the workplace and advanced opportunities for women in law.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 31. To submit a nomination, complete the form available online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/IBAWOMENAWARD2025.

Nominations are invited for women lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional professional excellence and have made a significant contribution to the advancement of women within the legal profession. Nominees should exemplify integrity, leadership and commitment to promoting gender equality and opportunity in law.

Nominations may be submitted by colleagues, professional associations, law firms, bar organizations, or other legal institutions. Self-nominations are also accepted. Submissions should include:  A completed nomination form; a concise statement outlining the nominee’s achievements and contributions; supporting materials or testimonials, where relevant.

The award will be presented during the 11th World Women Lawyers’ Conference, taking place between 24–26 June 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal, which will provide a forum for women practitioners from around the globe to engage in dialogue on issues of international importance, exchange experiences, and strengthen professional networks within the global legal community. 

The 2024 award was conferred upon Natasha Tardif in recognition of her commitment to gender equality, promoting female leadership and providing mentorship across the legal profession for more than two decades. The IBA Women Lawyers’ Committee presented the award during the 10th World Women Lawyers' Conference: Driving Change in Toronto.
