Signature Event planned for May 6
in West Bloomfield

The Oakland County Bar Foundation (OCBF) will host its 2026 Signature Event on Wednesday, May 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Orchard Lake Country Club, 5000 West Shore Dr. in West Bloomfield.

The 27th annual event offers an unforgettable evening filled with delicious food, a vibrant atmosphere, and the opportunity to support the vital work of the OCBF.

The Signature Event is the foundation’s exclusive fundraising gala, providing essential grants to numerous deserving nonprofit organizations. These grants further the OCBF’s mission to ensure access to justice and promote a deeper understanding of the law within our community. Without this event and the generosity of the sponsors, these grants would not be possible.

Cost for the event is $195 and tickets are limited. To purchase tickets, visit www.ocba.org and click on “events.”

‘Forensic Sciences Debrief’
offered online by SADO

The State Appellate Defender Office has re-scheduled its “Forensic Sciences Debrief” webinar for Wednesday, April 8, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.

In December 2025, the Michigan State Police Science Division hosted a two-day conference, open to defense attorneys, prosecutors, police, judges, and forensic scientists.

In this online training, Erin Van Campen (NDS-Detroit) and Jason Eggert (SADO) will provide key takeaways from the conference. Topics will include practice tips for obtaining and requesting discovery, preserving the right to confront forensic analysts, and highlighting forensic disciplines where defense attorneys should consider filing Daubert motions and engage defense experts.

To register for the webinar, visit www.sado.org/go/Debrief2026. Anyone with questions may email cdrc@sado.org.
